Whilst having no interest in speculative housing, the company has built a number of prestigious homes for clients on their own land, including Drewitts in Warninglid and The Quell at Lurgashall.
Fowler Building Contractors works extensively with local architects on residential extensions and alteration works, generally within a 25 mile radius of Cowfold but prefers not to work directly for home owners unless on very minor works.
The Fowler name has been associated with Ecclesiastical work for a century or more. When Cowfold Monastery was badly damaged by enemy action during the Second World War, Fowlers carried out much of the restoration work, a process that went on for some years.
The company retains the necessary skills to carry out repairs and renovations to ancient buildings with care and sensitivity, and recently completed projects include the Holy Trinity Church in Rusper and Christchurch in Worthing. The company is proud to have been entrusted with the major re-ordering works at St Peters Church in Henfield.
